I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year.
But not because of the turkey. And not because of cozy visits with family & friends. And certainly not because of the time-to-begin-your-holiday-shopping frenzy that’s tied to it.
This year the top item on my things-to-be-thankful-for list is:
The near-completion of the #$%@ construction at Scottsdale & Cactus.
It began the first week of October, and is set to wrap up at the end of the month. Yay!
Kudos to the City of Scottsdale for doing such a great job communicating with affected neighborhoods in advance about what to expect. Before the construction began, I received a notice in the mail explaining the process, outlining the goals and benefits of the project, and setting expectations. In addition, I was provided with contact information for the Project Manager in case of additional questions. Very nice.
And for ongoing updates on construction in our fine city? The City maintains a Traffic Restrictions Update page for our convenience.
Too tough to remember to check on traffic restrictions in advance? You can subscribe to their feed and get a weekly reminder via email regarding construction & traffic activities.
So, to the folks at City of Scottsdale who usually just get complaints about traffic & construction….here’s a happy sentiment: I’m thankful we have you!
