I hope you are all having a fun and safe Labor Day. I just returned from Tehachapi, California where I delivered a presentation to the Experimental Soaring Association about the speed record I set many years ago, and my stillborn project, Aria, that was intended to reset the record.
Did you know that,
Labor Day [Wikipedia] is an American federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September (September 3 in 2012) that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers.
Many Americans regard Labor Day as the second “National BBQ Day” of the year, with Memorial Day being the first. Thanks to Scottsdale City Councilman Bob Littlefield for the humorous poke at our collective ignorance of the meaning of these important days.
My hat is off to all the folks who actually work for a living, who built this country and continue to build it.
