Walter Lippmann, 1889-1974, American author, journalist, social commentator, and twice Pulitzer Prize winner. Lippmann helped popularize the term “Cold War.” He coined the term “stereotype” in its modern meaning, and the term “manufacture of consent.” Lippmann contributed to the observations of “public opinion” known as AlmondāLippmann consensus, which is related to the concept of “confirmation bias.”
