
“Arizona’s Most Intriguing Women” luncheon at the Biltmore Monday 26 March will
Honor professional and non-professional women from diverse backgrounds whose leadership and commitment are contributing in a positive way to the future of Arizona.
Honorees include Arizona “legends” Gabby Giffords, Janet Napolitano, and Sandra Day O’Connor.
Scottsdale notables on the list include
- Virgilia Singh, co-founder of Internet company, GenJuice.
- Gerda Weissmann Klein, Holocaust survivor and historian.
- Gladys Johnston, first woman dean of the College of Education at ASU.
- Julie Sullivan, leads the non-profit International Foundation for Education and Self-Help to assist the poor in strife-torn nations.
- Carole Machiz, supporter of performing arts, charities, and non-profit organizations.
Many of the others on the list have connections to Scottsdale, including artist Pat Mathiesen, whose incredible sculpture, One with the Eagle, graces the gateway corner to the Scottsdale Airpark.
