Thank you Scottsdale Republic for continuing to publicize the issue of residential encroachment at the Scottsdale Airport, courtesy of some really bad zoning decisions by Mayor Jim (not a pilot) Lane and his wingmen from the Chamber of Commerce Caucus on the Scottsdale City Council.
The Republic posted an article today about how Lane wants the city attorney to “clarify” the city’s policies regarding council members accepting gifts. However, the Airpark apartment story is Lane’s gift to us.
In addition to the previous honor of naming me one of the “Key Players in 2011,” this issue was chosen by the Republic as one of the Top Ten Scottsdale news stories of 2011. I have a feeling it will continue to be buzzing all the way through November 2012.
