Most Significant

As a very brief follow up to the Duck River article I posted yesterday, I was doing a little additional research on the history of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve this morning.

I ran across this page on the City’s website:

http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/preserve/history

Which contains this statement:

The importance of saving these lands is underscored by Arizona Game and Fish, which considers the McDowell Mountains the most significant wildlife habitat in the valley outside the Tonto National Forest.

Which begs the question: Why has Game and Fish neglected to study the wildlife? And why did they arbitrarily double the bag limit without such a study?
