Lisa Borowsky

A brief excerpt from Lisa Borowsky’s profile page:

Councilwoman Lisa Borowsky began her first term on the Scottsdale City Council in January 2009.

She founded Borowsky Law in 2006, where she focuses on settlement-oriented representation. She has a broad background in real estate, real estate law, extensive complex civil litigation experience and serves regularly as a court appointed arbitrator.

A native of the Valley, Councilwoman Borowsky completed her undergraduate degree at Arizona State University and her law degree at St. John’s University, School of Law. She is a member of the Arizona State Bar, Construction Law Section and Maricopa County Bar Association.

John’s thoughts on Borowsky:

The youngest member of the City Council, Lisa is an attorney specializing in construction law. She grew up riding horses (showing quarter horses). While I don’t agree with her perspective on the so-called entertainment district (as a side note, her brother Todd owns Shotgun Betty’s bar in downtown and Skin Cabaret in South Scottsdale), she seems to be coming around on the issue of community character, specifically building height. Lisa doesn’t take orders from anyone, but didn’t come into office with a full command of the issues. However, she’s shown an ever-increasing degree of understanding.

Our next Council Member scheduled for this series: Suzanne Klapp.
