I ‘discovered’ the Corner Deli just west of Scottsdale Airport (east of Scottsdale Quarter) by accident not long ago. It’s been there a long time, but you wouldn’t know it was there if you don’t already know about it. You see it is north off the main drag (Butherus) on 73rd Street. And contrary to it’s name, it’s in the middle of a long office building so you have to watch for it.
This is one of those unusual places like Honey Bears BBQ on Van Buren where blue collars and white collars mingle as if color blind. You’ll find good, basic sandwiches, soups, and potato salad here. Nothing fancy, nothing expensive, just good food and good service from folks who’ve been doing it for a long time.
Since the restaurant in the Airport Terminal went out of business a couple of years ago (soon to have new tenants hopefully), the Corner Deli and New York’s Best Italian Bistro [13901 North 73rd Street, Suite 216, Scottsdale, AZ 85260-3125 (480) 443-4524] are the only legacy restaurants on the west side of the airport.
The Corner Deli also offers delivery and call-ahead service.
