Will Stone reports on KJZZ this morning that Arizona’s Public Integrity Alliance is expected to file a federal “honest services fraud” complaint against Cox Cable lobbyist Susan Bitter Smith, who also happens to be the chair of the elected Arizona Corporation Commission and a former Scottsdale City Council member. Stone’s headline says (and Phoenix Business Journal’s Steven Totten parrots), “Corruption charges expected,” but only a prosecutor can file “charges.”
Complaints previously filed with freshman Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich by the PIA and Chandler AZ attorney Tom Ryan have apparently not been pursued by the AG’s office to their conclusion.
