I was talking to an old Marine today about the article I posted yesterday on the Marine Corps’ new-found love of mules as pack animals. He told me about the “Mechanical Mule” that the Corps used from 1956 into the 80s [video].
And yes, I have seen the LS3 ‘robotic mule’ that DARPA is developing for the Marine Corps. That’s one strange ‘beast.’
