I’ve been saying it for months: Scottsdale’s latest developer welfare program–aka the Scottsdale General Plan Update–will go down in flames in March. However, city council candidate Guy Phillips has fired the first official shot across the bow by virtue of filing an organization statement with the City Clerk for the, “Committee to Preserve Our Quality of Life in Opposition to Proposition 430,” a Ballot Measure Committee. (Proposition 430 is the ratification of the City’s General Plan). Guy is the committee’s Chair and lists his wife Cora Phillips as the Treasurer.
You can expect to see the Chamber of Commerce file organization papers for a ‘pro-403’ effort on behalf of their development-dominated membership soon.
Proposition 403 will be on a special election ballot in March. Stay tuned to ScottsdaleTrails for more info.
Good for you Guy for getting off the first shot!
By the way, Guy’s campaign kickoff event is 22 January from 5-7 p.m. at N Via La Serena, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253. You can view his kickoff video for more information. All the good guys are going to need our help this time around, so please attend.
