No, you’ve got me all wrong. Monday will be GREAT! It’s Halloween, which is a real “treat” in our neighborhood. It’s probably the single most social night of the year, when we finally see our neighbors again after being cooped up in the a/c all summer (and through a typically hot early autumn).
My wife and I take turns between sitting at the table at the end of our driveway alongside our neighbors doing Joan Rivers commentary on the fashions, and walking around the neighborhood with the kids. Speaking of which…
Be safe this Halloween! The Scottsdale Fire Department offers great trick-or-treating safety tips.
There are a number of activities this weekend and on Monday for the little (and the big) goblins. Here are just a few:
G.A.I.N. parties take place Saturday. Scottsdale neighborhoods are throwing parties from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, to get neighbors together for G.A.I.N. – Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods. The aim of the program is to unite neighbors and communities to create safer neighborhoods. To register your neighborhood or for more information, contact Citizen Adviser Joy Racine at (480) 312-2342. You might even see a something REALLY scary, like a city council member.
There’s a great list of Halloween nightclub parties for the adults in today’s Scottsdale Republic as well as online at AZCentral.com. Some of them sound pretty racy!
The FallĀ Festival celebration sponsored by the City of Scottsdale is Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. on the ball fields at Eldorado Park, 2301 N. Miller Road. This free event features game booths for all ages, costume contests, a pumpkin decorating contest, a canine costume contest, a haunted forest, stage demonstrations and more. End the evening with a bang by staying for our fireworks show! For more information, call (480) 312-0217 or email.
Don’t forget to look at our regular event listing for this week.
